Cygwin is a command line interface for Microsoft Windows. It provides windows based applications, data, and other system resources. The installation directory (by default, c:\cygwin) is the root of the Unix-like file system, which contains bins, home, tmp, and usr directories that you would usually find on a GNU/Linux or other Unix systems. VirtualBox is deceptively simple yet also very powerful cross-platform virtualization application. It can run everywhere from small embedded systems or desktop class machines all the way up to data center deployments and even Cloud environments.
VirtualBox allows you to run more than one operating system at a time.
