React 16+ – The Complete Guide To React Router 4 & React Redux

React is a JavaScript library for building user interface. The JavaScript library is about building JavaScript-driven apps. The important thing about react apps is that these run on the browser and not on the server. That is a great advantage because it will be faster if we don’t have to wait for a server response. React uses components to build the user interface. It is really important as this can be helpful in building a website. React 16+ helps to split work and the work can be uninterrupted. We can prioritize the reworks to a website and can redevelop accordingly. Each component can be built specifically and not as a whole. This makes working in teams easier. Even if we are working on our own, it makes it easy for us to keep our code manageable. For example, if we change the headline of the website later on, all we have to do is go and change the code on the headline. We wouldn’t have to search for a specific code in the entire website. Facebook and a community of individual developers and companies maintain React. It was released in March 2013 by Jordan Walke.

Why is React 16+ so useful to a developer?

The components in a JavaScript written website are like reusable building blocks. On a website, some of the components must be the same in structure and code. The only difference is that they have different content. This really helps a developer to develop and redevelop the website. React 16+ helps to split work and the work can be uninterrupted. We can prioritize the reworks to a website and can redevelop accordingly.

How to write a code in React?

Codepen is a web editor that helps us to write HTML, CSS and Java. Codepen clicks on creating and creating a new pen. You will get a workspace where you can write HTML, CSS and JavaScript code. There are free areas for HTML, CSS and JavaScript. In the HTML part you have to type div and type some details as the HTML code.
The code updates automatically in the space below. Write the CSS code in the respective area to transform the information that you created using HTML into a card. Then you can replicate the code you’ve written in HTML to create another set of information just like the first one. There is one small limitation as you are using the same HTML code again and again. But it isn’t a problem here. But it can be a problem if you use each of these snippets in JavaScript. Each section of the code in the HTML can be seen as a component. We can react by creating reusable components here.

You have to import or download React to the JavaScript area. You have to click on the ear icon near JavaScript and you can import or download the JavaScript library. React is one such JavaScript library. As React is popular, you can just click the Quick-Adds box and select React from it. This will add React to your writing area.

When the JavaScript Preprocessor drops down you have to select ‘Babel’ which is a feature that converts the JavaScript code you are writing here into the code that runs in the browser. That way we can get the code with all the features we want and we can still ship it to the code that runs in the browser. Now you can select ‘Save and Close’. After saving, we can start writing the React app in the JavaScript section.

Single Page and Multi-Page Applications

We can build single page applications and multi-page applications using these JavaScript libraries. In a single page application, we can only get one single HTML fall by the server. We got back this fall for the first time the user visited the page. After that everything is managed with React. The entire page consists of components which are rendered and handled by JavaScript.

On the other hand, in a multi-page application, we can get back multiple HTML pages where each page has a content for a given route we visit. For example: for user.com and user.com/users, we get two different pages. So in spite of individually contained components being dumped into that page, the entire page may not react. We can see Multi page applications these days but the popular approach these days is the single page application because if you manage the entire page with JavaScript, you never have to go back and reload the page with server.

React Router 4

When you are about to start a new project, you have to make a decision about the router you want to use. If your project is browser based, you can use browserrouter and hashrouter. If your server can respond to any possible URL, you can use a browser router. The hash router should be used for static websites. Browser router is the preferred one but if your server only serves static websites, then Hash router can be used.

ReactRouter

How to install React Router 4?

React routers can be divided into three parts. React-router, react-router-dom and react-router-native. You shouldn’t install react routers directly. React-router provides the core routing functions of the application whereas react-router-dom and react-router-native provide us with specific environmental components.

React Redux

You must understand what a state is before going on to understand a Redux. Even the simplest JavaScript application has a state. Where we click a selection and a window appears, there is a state present. Redux is something that is used to manage the state of a reactive component. Redux solves many problems in the React. It gives the correct state to the correct reaction components. Redux helps contain the state in a single location and also takes the fetching and managing process of the state outside reacting components. You can only understand the benefits of a React Redux once you start experiencing problems and would absolutely require a Redux.

If the State management is having a severe headache, Redux helps in minimizing the impact of the problem. If you want to efficiently manage your React, it is compulsory to learn Redux or an equivalent state management library. Redux is considered as the most important among all other state management libraries. There is no JavaScript application that does not use a state management library. There will be hurdles that you will face, like multiple React components trying to access the same state without any relationship. You will find it difficult to pass down one single state to multiple components. These situations can be effectively managed and handled by React Redux.

Redux Store

The Redux Store controls all the moving parts like actions and reducers. The Redux store is the decision maker in Redux. The Redux store is so important for the whole application. Learning to use Redux can be seemingly tough, but once you learn it, it will be invaluable for your React components and for your career.

Rendering

Router components can receive only one child element. You can create an app component that can efficiently render the rest of your application. You can reuse the app within the server and can switch the memory to a memory router.
There are also other important things to learn about reactions like debugging and styling components. Debugging is very important because we all tend to make mistakes. Even if you design the code right normally, there can be a silly mistake. There are chances of having some minor mistakes so it is important to find those and debug or recover your application. Styling is another area that often gets avoided. We have to make sure that the styling that is applied to a component only gets applied to that component and not to everything as a whole. Reacting can really make the job of a developer easier. It can help them to work more effectively as a team and also on individual basis.
